5年内に個別的に患者の遺伝子に基づくダイエットのデザイン設計が可能となると予測
いくつかの体重増加・減少に関わる有望遺伝子がその根拠らしいが、一方で、遺伝子、行動、体重関連疾患との関連性を迅速に明確にする必要があるとも述べている。


以下の報告では、遺伝子検査、ゲノム研究、体重変容研究を解析し、体重に関わる特定の遺伝子を見いだしているが実際の機序は完全には理解されてないということをレビューしている

商用Whole-Exome Sequencing ：個別診断事例

American Journal of Human Genetics掲載の、単純な血液検査の組み合わせで、重症メタボリック疾患の型別診断に対し、ゲノム・エピゲノム次世代シークエンサーである、商用ゲノム"executive summary" scanの報告。



Emory University School of Medicine と Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute

 2011年商用提供された比較的安価で、genome scientistにとって解読部分効率改善した、“whole-exome sequencing” を用いて、glycosylation disorder mutationを子供で検出。

DDOSTと呼ばれる遺伝子は報告なし
